A Peek at our 2019 International Fellows Reception

To celebrate our WCM students who travel abroad to further their Global Health education, we host an event every year in May where students, faculty and donors can come together, enjoy good food and talk about the work students did in their abroad experience.

A raffle was also organized by the Cornell Water Society, a student-run organization that works to install and promote clean water solutions in under-served communities abroad. All money raised from raffle tickets will be donated to the ASMK foundation, their in-country partner, who is helping to carry out the research.

Students displayed poster presentations detailing their work in places such as Scotland, Bhutan, Sweden, China, England, India , Madrid, and Thailand. After some wine and appetizers, guests went in to see the presentation by Dr. Madelon Finkel and fellowship donors of the program. There were also presentations from students giving some background on their experience abroad. The first presentation was by Olivia Sutton, whose elective experience gave her exposure to Ob/Gyn, Anesthesia and Community Health while in Vellore, India. Following this was a presentation by Bryan Dooley, who went to Lima, Peru for a clinical elective in infectious disease medicine.

It was a festive affair and a good time was had by all! To see a gallery of pictures from the event: https://international.weill.cornell.edu/international-fellows-reception-may-13th-2019-photo-gallery
