Many Weill Cornell students are interested in an international elective experience to enhance their understanding of health care and medical care delivery in other countries. Our program offers electives for students throughout their time at medical school. A number of first year students with specific objectives take an international elective in the summer after first year. Some students elect to take a year off between their third and fourth year to spend the year in another country doing research. Other students choose to complete their AOC scholarly project in global health, while others partake in a clinical or research electives abroad during their fourth year. Students also have the opportunity to complete multiple elective programs!
