This six-week elective provides students the opportunity to conduct research in Infectious Diseases at one of Africa’s leading research institutions. The major areas include malaria, schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis, HIV/AIDs, Rotavirus, Influenzas, Mycobacterial infections (tuberculosis and Buruli ulcer),and development of natural products (Ghanaian plant medicines) as treatments agents for malaria, HIV AIDS and trypanosomiasis. (1-2 students per year)
